Fatal Crash in Oroville Involves Overturned Lexus and Alcohol Investigation

According to the CHP, the 26-year-old driver of a 2001 Lexus sedan from Oroville and a 23-year-man passenger from Magalia were killed in a crash that occurred in the late-night hours of Thursday, Oct. 23 or the early morning hours of Friday, Oct. 24 when the eastbound Lexus traveling at an undetermined speed left the roadway and overturned several times before coming to rest down a steep embankment in heavy trees and brush. Both occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.

Alcohol is believed to be a factor in the crash and both occupants were not wearing seatbelts.

The CHP pleads, don’t drink and drive; designate a sober driver; and always wear your seatbelt.
