Feather River College Football Dominates Gavilan College with 61-6 Victory

Feather River College Athletics announces that the Feather River College football team played its first home game of the season versus Gavilan College on Saturday, Sept. 6, and won the contest 61-6.

The Golden Eagles came into the contest 1-0 after defeating Coalinga 42-3 on the road in Week 1. Feather River scored 54 points in the first half and totaled over 500 yards of offense in the contest.

Most of those yards, 445, came on the ground. Sophomore Janerious Jackson totaled 98 yards on just 10 carries, for an average of 9.8 yards per carry. Jackson also scored two touchdowns. Freshman quarterback Kayden Leaf racked up 91 yards rushing with 41 passing yards. Leaf also threw two touchdown passes and rushed for another.

Defensively the Golden Eagles have allowed less than 10 total points in two games. Sophomore defensive back Carlos Lopez ignited the defense with a 74-yard interception return while freshman Dillan Williams recorded two interceptions. Sophomore Traven Vigenser caught two passes for two touchdowns as the Golden Eagles cruised at home to a 61-6 victory over the visiting Rams.
