The upcoming 2025 season has Cougar fans buzzing as Head Coach Amy Morris enters the fall with a roster that blends talent, versatility, and determination. With 16 student-athletes representing five states and nearly every position stacked with depth, Lassen College Volleyball is poised to compete at a high level and make the community proud.
The freshmen bring size, energy, and excitement. Ruby DeChambeau (Nevada, Smith Valley HS) is a defensive specialist/libero known for her quickness and relentless energy. Kennidi Smith (Dayton, NV – Dayton HS) stands tall as a middle blocker, bringing All-State honors in volleyball and basketball to the Cougar front line. Kylie Kennedy (Nevada, Carlin Combined) at 6’0” is a powerful right-side hitter with an impressive prep career. Alison Mumm (Reno, NV – Reed HS) brings athleticism to the outside, while Makennah Howe (Reno, NV – Galena HS) adds setting depth. Vanessa Lott (Winnemucca, NV – Lowry HS) offers toughness on the right side, and Mackenzee Sills (Medford, OR – North Medford HS) is a strong addition at outside hitter/defensive specialist.
The sophomores provide experience and leadership. Olive Chandler (Lake Tahoe, CA – South Tahoe HS) returns as a steady outside hitter with versatility on both offense and defense. Abigail Lynn (Susanville, CA – Lassen HS) anchors the middle blocker spot with hometown pride. Meleny Medina (Reno, NV – Hug HS) adds depth at setter/defensive specialist, while Makala Crosno (Susanville, CA – Lassen HS) is one of the most versatile players on the roster, able to set, hit, and defend. Pacey Leann Harris (Elko, NV – Elko HS) is a decorated libero/DS with multiple league MVP and first-team honors. Betty Kay Overcash (Malin, OR – Lost River HS) brings size and consistency at middle blocker. Abigail Robles (Susanville, CA – Lassen HS) returns as a strong outside hitter, and Taylor McElhaney (Susanville, CA – Lassen HS) provides defensive depth as a libero/DS with MVP honors and academic accolades. Lucy Platz (Reno, NV – Reno HS) strengthens the setter position, having earned Academic All-State recognition.
Together, this group embodies the identity of Lassen College athletics: underdog mentality, small-town toughness, and Cougar Pride. With returning experience, talented newcomers, and Coach Morris’ steady leadership, the Cougars are ready to attack the 2025 season with energy and confidence.
