The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) has approved two new rate hikes for PG&E, marking the fifth and sixth increases this year. These hikes aim to fund vegetation management projects and extend the operation of the Diablo Canyon Power Plant in San Luis Obispo. Customers will see these increases reflected in their bills over 12 months starting in 2026. According to The Utility Reform Network (TURN), PG&E customers are already paying an average of $50 more than at the beginning of the year.
