The Airport Finally Sells the Abandoned Helicopter

The Airport has successfully sold hangers and an abandoned helicopter. Bob Tyndall, a veteran, who works at the Airport along with 4,000 veterans and 250 Legions, presented a check to the city from the Airport for 2,067.00 on the sale of the abandoned helicopter.

The Veteran Program has previously sponsored scholarship grants between 500 and 1,000.

Mr. Tyndall asked the city to consider the helicopter funds being returned back to the veteran’s scholarship funding.  The veterans felt that the return of the funding would show the gratitude from the city to the veterans that they feel are lacking.

With the veterans cleaning out hangers 3 and 4 for sale and the effort put into finding a buyer for the helicopter, Mr. Tidwell feels presenting the check back to the veterans will show community support on both ends.

Memorial Day is right around the corner, and we honor those who served our country.
