Georgia “Kay” Woupios
1946-2025

With deep love and sorrow, we announce the passing of Georgia "Kay" Woupios, who left this world on May 21, 2025, just days before her 76th birthday.

Born on May 26, 1949, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she moved to Susanville, California, in 1952.  Georgia lived a life centered around care for children, for family and anyone fortunate enough to know her.  She dedicated much of her life to working in child care, where her warmth, patience and nurturing nature touched countless young lives.  To the children she cared for, she was more than a caretaker, she was a constant source of comfort, joy and encouragement.

Georgia was known for her lively, talkative spirit.  A natural conversationalist, she had a remarkable ability to connect with people for all walks of life whether she was sharing stories, offering advice, or simply chatting about the day.  Her words were always full of heart.  Her presence could light up a room and often did.

She is survived by her husband, Theodore "Ted" Woupios, her son, Matthew Woupios, her daughter-in-law, Dawn Woupios, her grandchildren; Matthew Jefferson Woupios, Melissa Baker-Miller, Kristyn Baker and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Richard Polan and Jeffrey Polan and her sister Mary Ellen Brown, as well as a number of nieces and nephews she adored.  Georgia was preceded in death by her mother Georgetta Polan and her father Melvin "Bud" Polan.  Her family and friends will carry her memory with them always, remembering her laugh, her love and the special way she made everyone feel welcome.

A celebration of Kay's life will be held on August 16th at Aspen Grove Ranch.  May her memory be a blessing to all that have known her and may her voice echo in our hearts forever.
