Two men from Portland who were searching for Sasquatch were found dead in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest. Officials believe exposure and being ill-prepared were the likely causes of death. The men, aged 59 and 37, were reported missing early on Christmas Day, prompting a search by the Skamania County Sheriff’s Office. Their car was spotted near Willard, Washington, by Flock camera footage. Over the next three days, 60 volunteer search-and-rescue personnel scoured the difficult terrain and harsh weather conditions on the ground and by air. The bodies were discovered in a heavily wooded area of the forest. The search involved several sheriff’s offices and search-and-rescue teams, including those from Silver Star, PNW, Crag Rats, and the US Coast Guard. The Skamania County Sheriff’s Office expressed condolences to the families of the deceased. The men’s identities have not been released.
