Lowe’s Companies has announced a significant move to strengthen its competitive position against Home Depot by acquiring Artisan Design Group (ADG) for $1.3 billion. This acquisition aims to enhance Lowe’s Pro offerings by tapping into a new distribution channel within a fragmented market estimated at around $50 billion.

ADG is recognized for its design distribution and installation services for interior finishes, particularly in flooring, cabinets, and countertops. The partnership is expected to leverage ADG’s customer-centric approach and strong reputation among builders and property managers, thereby enhancing the overall service offerings available to these clients.

Lowe’s President and CEO Marvin R. Ellison expressed confidence that this acquisition will help expand the company’s market reach. The financing for the deal will come from Lowe’s available cash, and the transaction is anticipated to be finalized in the second quarter of 2025.
