BUTTE COUNTY, Calif. – The Butte County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to convene today to make a pivotal decision regarding the county’s public health leadership. The board is expected to approve the appointment of Monica Soderstrom as the new Public Health Director for Butte County.

Monica Soderstrom, who has been selected for the role, brings a decade of experience as the Community Health Division Director. She is also an active member of the Enloe Health Board of Trustees. Soderstrom’s appointment includes a three-year contract with an annual salary of $150,000.

In addition to the public health appointment, the Board of Supervisors will address an important energy-related matter. The board will consider joining the Pioneer Community Energy Joint Powers Authority by participating in a Community Choice Aggregation (CCA) program, which would necessitate leaving the current Butte Choice Energy Joint Powers Authority.
